GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST AND PEACE TO HIS PEOPLE ON EARTH
I greet you with this prophetic message:
As the earth is preparing to celebrate another season of Christmas,
I come to you to express my
message of love to all my people.
Let me begin by recreating the Christmas legend. As you know from reading
Holy Scripture, the
prophets had foretold of a heavenly king coming to rescue the chosen
people of God, the ones who
had been faithful to him. The world was in chaos. It had become a [cesspool]
of iniquity and
ungodliness. Mankind had suffered from the fall of man by the sins
of Adam and Eve, and so it
continued to spin in a web of destruction. Distrust, greed, lust, and
the worship of pagan gods ran
rampant throughout the world.
The heavenly hosts witnessed this abominable situation with sadness.
God the Father, who created
the world out of pure love, decided he would, because of his gentle
mercy and the generous love he
had for man, give man another chance to prove himself worthy of God's
love. Thus, his plan for the
salvation of the world began.
God the Son would be sent down to earth to break the shackles of evilness
and redeem mankind
and lead man back to God. But how should God come down from heaven
to save man? Should he
come as a stern ruler? Should he come in majestic glory? No, God the
Father, in his infinite wisdom,
decided to have God the Son come to earth and be born as man and live
as man in order to save
men and pave the way to glory and their heavenly home. He would come
as a peacemaker, as a
teacher to teach men how to live as their God intended them to live.
The Lord God would come as a
child, innocent and glowing with the light of heaven surrounding him,
to dispel the darkness of the
earth.
My coming into the world as a babe had a two-fold purpose. First, God
the Father decided I would
follow the evolution process of man. Man comes to earth from heaven
as an innocent child of God
and lives his time on earth to do the will of his Creator and then
goes back to his heavenly home
when his work is completed. So, too, must the Son of God follow this
process. He must be born of
woman as an innocent child and grow in wisdom and age until he reaches
manhood, all the while
teaching and preaching the good news of salvation, the love of the
Father, and man's rightful place in
the heavenly kingdom. The second reason for coming as a babe was so
that man would not be afraid
of this heavenly King returning to earth. Have you ever seen anyone
afraid of a baby? A baby is
loved and made welcome into the world amidst great joy. So now the
decision was made to have
me enter the world as a child. It also fulfilled the prophecy written
many years before my coming.
The time had come to choose a young woman to be my earthly mother.
My Father and I chose a
young, beautiful, innocent maiden from all the women of the world because
of her total and devoted
love of God. We knew she would say YES to God's request and that she
would fulfill her role in a
loving, dignified manner. Blessed Joseph was also hand-picked by the
heavenly Father and me. He,
too, was chosen from among many just men and had the special honor,
bestowed on him by God
the Father to be my guardian while on earth.
So now the stage was set, so to speak. My earthly mother and father
had been chosen and had
accepted the challenge, and [those in] the world anxiously waited for
their king to come and save
them.
On a starry night in a little town called Bethlehem, I came into the
world. Angels were summoned to
prepare my way and to help during the birth process. I came into the
world gently and peacefully
and so a new role was written for me, that of savior of mankind, a
prince of peace, and a healer of
nations who would free his people from the bondage of sin.
Let us now ponder on the symbols used at Christmastime:
A Tiny Babe. Everyone loves a baby, a tiny, innocent child that brings
the realm of God from heaven
to earth. A child who brings joy to his/her family.
Angels. [Angels are] an important sign of the Christmas season, for
in their glorious, wondrous
forms, they are sparks of the love that emanates from the heavenly
kingdom. They are radiant and
glow with the heavenly glitter. They sing hymns of praise and on the
first Christmas morn, they were
the first to sing the glad tidings of my birth. Today, when you hear
the beautiful music of Christmas,
think of the choirs of angels who proclaimed my coming on that first
Christmas celebration.
Trees and Lights. A special tree is searched for and placed in homes
and businesses, marking a
significant sign of the Christmas season. Bright, twinkling lights
adorn the tree. (Very appropriate, for
my crib or manger was made of wood from a tree, and I would die on
a cross made from a tree).
The beautiful tree of lights celebrating my birth would one day bring
tears of sadness at my death.
The lights signify the glorious light that shines for all mankind from
the heavenly kingdom. They glitter
and twinkle, much like the beautiful stars that adorned the skies the
night of my birth. The bright star
on top of the tree shines on the pathway for all to see and be guided
back to their God.
Holly and Poinsettia. The beautiful berries of holly growing on bushes
are likened to the thorns that
would crown my head at another time in my life on earth. The beautiful
Christmas flower, the
poinsettia, with its bright leaves contrasts with the passion flower
that symbolizes another time in my
earthly life.
Snow. Have you ever wondered why so many Christmas scenes are snow scenes?
Well, snow
represents purity and gentleness. The peacefulness in nature represents
the gentleness of God. Have
you ever seen snow fall? It falls ever so gently and softly from heaven
to earth. It falls in a hushed
whisper covering the earth in a mantle of pure white. This, too, is
symbolic of my birth, for it matters
not what season I was born, or even what day of the year, this symbolism
of snow remains. For, you
see, like a snowflake, I came down from heaven to earth, ever so gently
and quietly to a pure young
maiden and her young husband. I was placed in a crib of straw with
her mantle of white draped
around me. It was very beautiful, like the first snowfall that covers
the earth in a beautiful setting.
Children and Gifts. Children, in their wondrous innocence, are the true
meaning of Christmas. They
wait with joyous wonder, much like the world waited for its savior.
Their hearts are merry with
excitement at the brightly wrapped gifts under the tree, which correlates
with the joy that surrounded
the stable when the wise men brought special gifts to that tiny babe
so many years ago.
Christmas. What does this mean in your world today? It should have a
special meaning to all, for I,
Ileave you now with the glad tidngs, "Behold! A child has been orn--a
child of goodness, a chld
