TREASURES OF THE SEA
My dear one, let me take this opportunity to speak to you and to thank
you for your prayers and
requests to come and visit with you this night. You have just returned
from a silent retreat whereby
your mind and body were given rest and peace. I chose not to communicate
with you in written form
during this retreat time, but instead I chose to come to you in thought
process. You remember I told
all of you that I would use other ways of visiting with you, so I decided
to forego the written form of
communication and listen to your prayers from your heart and communicate
with you in feelings and
thoughts:
Remember each day you came to the seashore, you first acknowledged my
presence and then gave
praise and honor to the Triune God. We were very happy at this acknowledgment
and the gentle,
loving prayers you lifted up to us. Your prayers were very lovely to
witness, and the special
"treasure" I placed in your view was indeed a gift from me. Now I ask
you to go deep into your
mind and recall some of the silent moments we spent in each other's
company and the thoughts I
projected to you.
Do you recall my talking to you on the seashore as the foamy white waves
thundered on the shore?
Do you recall my speaking to you of treasures that God leaves to man
every day and most of the
time they go unnoticed or are trampled on and broken into tiny pieces?
What a shame!
You know I loved the seashore when I was on the earth plane. I often
went for walks along the sea
as you did. I loved to watch the children frolic in the water and build
their sand castles. Their laughter
was music to my ears. And I loved to watch beachcombers searching for
seashells left by the
ebbtide and the delight when a special one was found, much like you
did when you found the
treasured shell placed there by your friend and savior for your pleasure.
Listen while I weave a story of life that corresponds with the sea and
its mystery. The beauty of the
ocean is one of the loveliest of gifts that God created. The sea is
ever changing. It brings high tides
and low tides. It ebbs and flows right before your eyes. You may find
the sea calm, gentle, and
serene one day, with only a ripple of wave breaking on the shore, and
stormy the next day, as strong
waves come roaring and crashing onto the shore. But, with the violent
bellows of the stormy sea,
comes a phenomenon, for when the water is churned up by the angry waves,
the treasures from the
deep are often loosened from the ocean bottom and are brought forth
to the shore where they will
be found, polished, and given special care by the person who finds
them. So, too, with life. Life has
its high times and low times. During the high times, man experiences
a calm, serene, contented
lifestyle, and then all of a sudden a dark cloud appears on the horizon,
and man experiences pain and
suffering. Why is this allowed to happen? God, in his infinite wisdom,
knows that man will be
tempted by the enemy of the soul, especially when man is moving closer
to his Creator. But, because
he gave man a gift of free will, God will permit the serene heart to
be stirred up by allowing this
havoc. He sometimes allows it so that it can stir the heart to go deep
within itself and find the
treasure that has lain dormant in the soul. God does not allow this
[in order] to punish his people.
No, for remember, he allowed it to happen to his Son and some of the
saintly people who lived in
the heavenly kingdom. So, I ask of you not to give in to temptation.
Do not let the dark clouds
override the sunshine in your lives. Life is a challenge every day,
and you must be ready to accept
the good times and bad times, for, sometimes, God uses the rain in
your lives to overcome the
dangerous waves of deception caused by the enemy of the soul to turn
man away from his Creator.
This rain is sometimes a blessing in disguise (one of God's simple
treasures), for it cleanses and
washes away the grains of sand from the heart of man and leaves it
free to do the will of God.
If your life is full of trials and tribulations, read the book of Job
or the lives of the holy people who
have been specially blessed for the lives they lived on earth. Many
of these holy people experienced
terrible sufferings while on earth, but they knew the secret--they
offered their sufferings up to the
Father, giving honor and glory to his name. They did not give in to
the enemy of the soul when they
experienced trials and tribulations. For their love and devotion, they
found the treasures that God
had gifted them with--strength to withstand all sufferings and temptations,
and a loving spirit.
If your life is experiencing a low tide at this time, and you are faced
with trials and tribulations, go
down deep inside of you. Pray and meditate and grow closer to God.
Give him thanks and praise
amidst your sufferings, and you will find treasures that will withstand
any force that enters your life
and tries to take you away from your heavenly Father and your friend
and savior. You will stand on
the horizon of life and see your rainbow. For remember, after the storm,
comes the rainbow in all its
beauty. If you are enduring pain and sufferings at this time in your
life, remember it will only be
temporary if you stay close to God and let him stir up the treasures
in your life that will overcome all
adversities. Remember the passage in the book of Job "This, too, will
pass" and this saying, "All
things are possible with God who gives me strength."
May you always ride the stormy seas in your life, giving praise to God,
and may you find the treasure
in your soul that will lead you to that serene, peaceful sea in your
life that will gently carry you to your
heavenly home, [which] God has prepared for you.
I leave you now with the blessings of God the Father, the Holy Spirit,
and your loving friend and
savior.
JESUS
