Catholic and Christian
I am Catholic. I am Christian. To be completely one, I feel a person
has to be the other as well. I am tired of hearing from some of the various
other "Christian" groups that the Catholic Church teaches a false gospel,
especially when these same people rely on misinformation, a denial of documented
history and simple feels-right emotion to make their point. Sure, it would
be just great if all we had to do to reach heaven was say the sinners prayer
once, but then again, that does not seem to follow the advice we have been
given to work out our faith with "fear and trembling" (Phil 2:12)
Here is my best explanation of the Eucharist.
This is the key to understanding Catholicism, the rest falls into place
once a person figures out this one. I've inculded some links to other locations
as well, so you can get some other angles to correct understanding about
Communion as understood for the first 1600 years of Christianity.
Where we got the Bible, answers to some common
Protestant or non-Catholic questions, and a challenge of my own: Why
is almost every Christian group but the Catholics using an Old Testament
selection of books designed to be anti-Christian?
Next up: Mary and the Saints The Catholic
line on: Why we have them, What we do with them, and What we have never
believed about them.
Then comes an explanation of the office of the Papacy, and sopme info about
John Paul II, the successor to Peter.
